Dr. Watson has been in education for the past 23 years as a teacher, coach, and campus administrator. Before coming to NBISD in 2021, she served the principal at Boerne Middle School South in Boerne ISD, a post she has held since 2019. Prior to working in Boerne ISD, she was an assistant principal at Lake Travis High School (2017-2019) and Cedar Creek High School in Bastrop (2015-2017). She also worked in Frisco ISD from 2010-2015 as an instructional coach/assistant principal, administrative intern, assistant campus coordinator/head coach and teacher at Lone Star High School. She also taught and coached in Bastrop High School (2006-2010), Vidor High School (2003-2006 & 1999-2002), and Blooming Grove High and Junior HIgh School (2002-2003). Her primary subject areas she taught were reading and health and physical education. She has coached every sport including cheer and served as the campus athletic coordinator.  

In addition to her public service in education, she served four years in the U.S. Air Force as a Staff Sergeant and Public Health and Wellness Technician.

Dr. Watson earned her Doctorate of Education Leadership, Master of Education Administration and her Bachelor of Arts and Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from Lamar University. She earned her Superintendent Certification in 2019. She attended the Thompson Executive Principal Leadership Academy in 2021, the Texas Association of Secondary School Principals (TASSP) Leadership Academy in 2016 and the Region 13 Instructional Leadership Development Certification Program in 2012. She has several health-related certifications such as being a Yoga instructor and has attended numerous trainings related to curriculum, learning strategies, and social and emotional learning. 

She is a member of the TASSP and the Texas Council of Professors of Education Administration. She also was accepted into the Texas Literacy Initiative. Her past awards include being named the District 19-5A Coach of  the Year in 2010 and Bastrop County Coach of the Year in 2009. She received an honorable discharge from the U.S. Air Force, was awarded the Airman of the Quarter in 1995, as well as the Air Force Good Conduct Medal, the Air Force Achievement Medal and the National Defense Service Medal.
